VSD closure surgery
Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) Closure Surgery is a procedure to repair a hole in the wall (septum) between the heart's lower chambers (ventricles). This congenital heart defect can cause abnormal blood flow, leading to heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and poor growth in infants. The closure can be done through open-heart surgery or a minimally invasive transcatheter approach.

VSD closure surgery is recommended after diagnostic tests such as echocardiography (TTE or TEE), electrocardiogram (ECG), chest X-ray, cardiac MRI, and cardiac catheterization confirm the presence and severity of the defect. These tests help determine the need for surgical intervention.
