Dr. Vivek Vij, a pioneering liver transplant surgeon, is credited with standardizing safety protocols for living donor surgeries in India. He was the first from the Indian subcontinent to report a series of laparoscopic donor hepatectomies. He established successful liver transplant programs at Fortis Hospitals in Noida and Mohali. As the founder of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Sciences, he has led over 2,500 liver transplants with a remarkable 97% success rate, primarily at Fortis Hospital, Noida.
